Who is CTH Video Productions?

Since 2000, CTH Video Productions has been offering reasonably priced high quality video productions to the Kentucky area. CTH Video Productions began in Western Kentucky in 2000 and in 2002 owner Kristofer Rommel moved the company back to his hometown of Louisville, where it has been since.

Kristofer has an extensive background of film, television, theatre and live productions that spans over 15 years. He has produced and directed short and feature films with his other companies Virginia Pictures and The Bob Rogers Group, which have been seen at film festivals around the country. He has conducted screen writing workshops in Louisville, Bowling Green and in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is an accomplished writer and has had his plays performed professionally and his poetry collected in 2 different published compellations. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Murray State University in Theatre and also has an Associates Degree in Business and another in Paralegal Studies. His is also a certified Paralegal nd runs a music production studio, 7th Street Music.

With an emphasis on quality production using state of the art equipment, Kris, his wife Ashley, and partner Mike Summerhays have determined to change the way people look at the art of wedding videography. Instead of a videographer being last on the list of wedding vendors to chose for your wedding, CTH Video Productions should be at the top.

At CTH Video Productions, we understand that your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life, that is why you need a professional to tape your wedding. Having produced over 300 weddings and winning 5 national awards, we can say with certainty,"We know how to shoot a wedding!".

A professional videographer is an objective participant in the festivities. We are not directly involved like a friend or family member who may not be at the right place at the right time. A professional will not be socializing or drinking and chatting up the guests as someone who knows everyone would be. A professional is there to do one job and that is to capture the moment.

We begin planning the production with our couple two months in advance so we make sure we understand your needs are and what you want to get out of your production. We are also available to speak with most times day or night regardless if the store is open. We also make sure to stay in contact with our couples after the wedding to keep them informed of the editing process and final copies production.

What type of style do you shoot?

Our style is mix between documentary and cinematic.

Recording a wedding is by it's nature requires a documentary style. Staying out of the way and being unobtrusive is what you want your videographer to be when shooting the ceremony. We understand the ceremony is a religious event first and foremost and the utmost care should be taken to make sure no attention is drawn our way during it.

The cinematic style comes to play in framing and shot selection; tight shots, close ups, etc.

By combing the two styles we are able to capture the entire day with a beautiful presence and at the same time make sure we don't stand out like a sore thumb.

What type of equipment do you use?

At CTH Video Productions we use only state-of-the-art video cameras and video editing equipment.  Utilizing 3 CCD Cannon XL and GL series digital video cameras, we are able to provide our clients outstanding picture quality for a fraction of the cost of most companies.  All editing takes place on high powered Macintosh computers using Final Cut Pro software.  UHF wireless microphones are used during the ceremony to capture all voices and speaking parts as well as other professional microphones for the readers and musicians. Camera lights and professional microphones are also used for reception shooting
